Hey there, we're The Learning Hive Academy!
You may have known us in the past as Lisa's Study Guides, but as of 2026, we've officially adopted our new name, The Learning Hive Academy (sometimes The Hive or The Learning Hive for short).

No two students are the same; that’s why every student receives guidance shaped around their needs, goals and learning style. No rigid, cookie-cutter lessons here! Through tailored support, we help our students develop their skills in a way that works for them.

Our Beginning
Founded by Lisa Tran in 2010, what began as a solo tutoring venture has gone through years of growth and expansion. Our team grew and we quickly became a trusted place for students (and even teachers) seeking support for VCE English. Through our tutoring and resources, we've guided thousands of students over the years as they've developed the clarity, confidence and capability needed to excel in English - a mission that remains at the heart of everything we do.
In 2025, Matt and Kyrstal took over the reins and as we reflected on how far we had come, along with our values and mission, it felt like the right time to adopt a name that better represents who we are today - The Learning Hive Academy; a home base for all of our busy bees, where everyone thrives together.

Today and Beyond
Today, The Learning Hive Academy supports students in Years 7 to 12 as they prepare for assessments, strengthen core skills and navigate the demands of secondary school. While VCE English is where our hive began, our vision extends beyond it - we're working towards a future where students across subjects and year levels can access high quality education that empowers them to think critically, communicate clearly and approach both school and life with confidence.
Moving forward, expect to see continued high quality tutoring, new resources, expanded subject offerings and more ways for students to learn, connect and grow within our community.
